65,00 €The fifth volume of the series Richthofen Squadron reports about the events of 1943, initially as a continuation and end of the operations of the 11./JG 2 in Tunisia and then the relocation to Normandy in early April 1943, where the pilots, who are used to successful operations, come into a seemingly hopeless situation and suffer big losses.
With 350 photos. -
Am Himmel Frankreichs, Die Geschichte des JG 2, Bd. 6: 1944
65,00 €The sixth volume reports in detail on the history of Richthofen from January 1, 1944 until its final withdrawal from France at the end of August. This period was marked by many murderous dogfights during the preparation and implementation of the landing in Normandy. Due to the large imbalance of the armed forces, the persistence of the German air force pilots did not allow to defend the occupied sky over France. The losses of both the Allies and the German Air Force were dramatic. For example, within two months the JG 2 lost two commodores and two commanders, four of whom had reported almost 400 victories. The chapter concerning the fighting of JG 2 on the invasion front shows that «Richthofen» was particularly active there from June 6, 1944.

Am Himmel Frankreichs. Die Geschichte des JG 2, Bd. 1: 1934-1940
65,00 €This book is the GERMAN completed and edited chronicle of the famous Jagdgeschwader 2 Richthofen, the fighter wing named after the legendary WW1 aviator Freiherr Manfred von Richthofen, also called the Red Baron. It is the first time that a so detailed chronicle of this so famous unit appears in German. Compared to the previous English version In the Skies of France volume 1, this book contains dozens of new and fantastic pictures published for the first time, as well as new accounts of members of JG 2: the authors were now supported by the Traditionsgemeinschaft JG 71 Richthofen which gave them full access to their archives. This volume has been so extended that it could not contain any more the chapter dedicated to the Battle of Britain. This will be the nucleus of the subsequent volume. Presented in a day-by-day structure, this chronicle is documented and illustrated with around 350 excellent contemporary photographs with detailed captions. Loss-lists, as well as an index of proper names are included while the known victories are included in the text-self in form of small and well readable tables.

AMX | Brazilian-Italian Fighter-Bomber
27,95 €Italy began work on a new fighter-bomber in the late 1970s, aiming to field an aircraft capable of surviving in heavily defended Cold War airspace, flying at very low level, and releasing its weapons deep in enemy territory with a high degree of accuracy. In the early 1980s, Brazil joined the programme, resulting in the AMX.
Subsonic, the new fighter-bomber has also proven well suited to the types of conflicts that have proliferated in the last 25 years and has served the Italian Air Force well during close air support, interdiction and reconnaissance missions.
For Brazil, the AMX brought 21st-century capabilities to its air force, introducing advanced avionics and systems including a head-up display, radar warning receiver, chaff and flare countermeasures, identification friend or foe, and other new concepts. In this way, the AMX provided the Brazilian Air Force with a useful stepping-stone to the Super Tucano and the modernised F-5 Tiger II.
Most importantly, the AMX had a huge impact on the Brazilian defence industry, which developed new technologies and infrastructures that helped drive both military and civilian programmes developed by Embraer from the 1990s onwards, including the E-Jet family and the KC-390 transport.
This book is a must-have for specialists and enthusiasts alike, containing exclusive material, including photos and interviews that have never previously been published, and first-hand accounts of tactics and operations.
With a lot of colour pictures, drawings, tables and maps. -
Anatomy of the Ship: The Aircraft Carrier Hiryu
65,00 €Hiryu was an aircraft carrier built for the Imperial Japanese Navy (IJN) during the 1930s. Her aircraft supported the Japanese invasion of French Indochina in mid-1940 and during the first month of the Pacific War, she took part in the attack on Pearl Harbor and the Battle of Wake Island. She supported the conquest of the Dutch East Indies in January 1942 and her aircraft bombed Darwin, Australia, and continued to assist in the Dutch East Indies campaign. Anatomy of the Ship: The Battleship Scharnhorst
59,95 €The Kriegsmarines Scharnhorst was a German capital ship, described either as a battleship or battlecruiser, and the lead ship of her class, which included one other ship, Gneisenau. She was launched on 3 October 1936 and completed in January 1939, armed with nine 28cm C/34 guns in three triple turrets. She operated with Gneisenau for much of the early portion of World War II, including sorties into the Atlantic to raid British merchant shipping. They took part in Operation Weserübung (April-June 1940), the German invasion of Norway, during which they sank the aircraft carrier HMS Glorious and her escort destroyers Acasta and Ardent. Scharnhorst also sank HMS Rawalpindi in November 1939. In early 1943, Scharnhorst joined the Tirpitz in Norway to intercept Allied convoys to the Soviet Union. On a sortie from Norway to attack a convoy, the German force was intercepted by British ships and during the Battle of the North Cape (26 December 1943), HMS Duke of York and her escorts sank Scharnhorst. Most of her crew was lost.
This is the most comprehensive examination of Scharnhorst ever published, drawing on new research and technology to tell the full story of the ship. It includes a complete set of detailed line drawings with fully descriptive keys and full-colour 3D artwork, supported by technical details, photographs, and text on the building of the ship, as well as a record of her service history. -

Austro-Hungarian Mine Warfare and Auxiliary Vessels in WW I
34,95 €Beside fighting ships, all navies of the world have a number of auxiliary warships in their inventory, and the Austro-Hungarian Imperial and Royal navy was no exception.
