Battle of Britain Combat Archive 13: 12 Sept. – 15 Sept. 1940
34,95 €Volume 13 covers 12-15 September, widely regarded as the climax of the Battle of Britain, with 15 September in-particular being a monumental day when RAF squadrons claimed record amounts of victories over the Luftwaffe. But what really happened, and was this day as significant as it has been portrayed? This volume provides the reader with all of the information needed to make up their own minds in another extended, 144 page edition.
Volume Thirteen contains: Over 100 b/w original wartime photos, 6 combat maps, 2 specially commissioned combat scenes by Piotr Forkasiewicz, one of the worlds leading digital aviation artists. -
Battle of Britain Combat Archive: Battle of Britain Day SUPPLEMENT
27,50 €When it came to publish Volume 13 of the BofBCA series, the publisher realised that it simply had too much material to fit into the book for the 15th September. This was the day of course when the RAF claimed 185 victories and these combat reports alone would have filled an entire volume(!), so they decided to print all of this extra material in a supplemental volume for those who would be interested.
The final 80 page book therefore forms an essential companion volume to Vol 13 of the main series. It includes the following:
The Legend of Battle of Britain Day
Luftwaffe strength and effort
Fighter Commands tactics
Görings reaction
Effect on Unternehmen Seelöwe
The Legacy of Over-Claiming
Sorties flown by RAF Pilots
Extra Combat Reports.
