Although almost 22,000 vehicles were built during the latter half of WWII, it seems as this vehicle class was neglected for the last fifty years in all publications. As leading model companies have now detected a market for soft-skinned vehicles it is time for Nuts & Bolts to release an in-depth publication on these vehicles. As ever we will publish a sound mixture of wartime shots to bring our readers an impression of their deployment during the war, detail photos of existing vehicles in museums and private collections and how to model the four versions by Tony Greenland. Also, Blue prints from John Rue and camouflage artwork from Laurent Lecocq complete the publication. With 341 photos (222 historic, 24 model, 86 modern), 78 blueprints and 16 camouflage schemes, table of organisation.
Til today, Nuts & Bolts only has produced publications on tracked, half-track vehicles and weapon systems. This is the first issue in a series, which will deal exclusively on Lorries in particular the medium cross-country lorries/trucks (commercial).
With about 471 pictures, 279 of them contemporary b/w pictures from manuals and operations, some of them hitherto unpublished. 147 color pictures of still existing trucks in museums and from private collections, 45 color pictures of models, built from
Tony Greenland and Vinnie Branigan, German/English captions, 35 pages with German/English text, some tables, 27 pages with b/w drawings of all versions and details in scale 1:35 from John Rue, 8 pages with color plates showing different camouflage schemes of Laurent Lecocq as well as tactical markings and table of organisation (KStN).
As previously announced we continue with part 2 on the history of the Jagdpanzer IV. This describes the two versions developed by the companies VOMAG and ALKETT, both types were armed with the 7.5 cm Pak 42 L/70, an anti-tank gun that derived from the famous gun of the Panther. If you take into account that the series production of both versions did not commence until August 1944, it is really surprising that by the end of the war (only 8 months later,) 970 VOMAG and 277 ALKETT vehicles with this armament were built. However, both versions had no major impact on the course of the war.
With 393 photos (160 historic, 19 model, 214 modern), 42 blueprints, 17 camouflage schemes, tactical markings, table of organsisation (KStN).
