Feldwagen in Uniform. Wagen, Karren, Schlitten und Ausrüs- tungen bis 1945
39,90 €With a wealth of exclusive image material, this book is the perfect complement to the volume on »Tier in Uniform/Animals in Uniform«, also published by Motorbuch Verlag. Wolfgang Fleischer is dedicated to the large number of single- and two-axle covered vehicles, often, but not exclusively, pulled in field grey by animal helpers. In doing so, the author draws a line from 1870/71, from the First to the Second World War. Until 1945, teams with workshop vans, medical and kitchen trailers, transport vehicles for pioneer equipment, equipment, ammunition and much more were still in the service of the Wehrmacht.

The aircraft was transferred to the USA and further investigations were planned but finally cancelled due to lack of necessary spare parts. So the aircraft survived and is still present in an American store. 70 years later the shape of the aircraft was rebuilt and tested with interesting results.

Flugzeug Profile Heft 69: Republik RF-84F Thunderflash
13,80 €The F-84 series was one of the most significant Western aircraft developments of the 50s. The prototype of the RF-84 series, the YRF-84, made its maiden flight in February 1952. The first machines followed in March 1954.
The German Air Force took delivery of a total of 108 RF-84Fs, becoming the largest operator outside the United States. It was planned to set up three reconnaissance squadrons. However, due to a lack of trained pilots, this plan could not be realized.
This issue deals comprehensively with the operational history of the RF-84F Thunderflash in the Air Force.

Flugzeug Profile Heft 70: Junkers Ju 87 G Der Kanonenvogel
13,80 €The last variant of the Ju 87 Stuka and successor of the Junkers Ju 87D was the Ju 87G series. This Stuka variant was produced only by conversions of the ubiquitous D models.
The Ju 87G was a version specially designed for anti-tank combat with two BK 3.7-cm cannons mounted in gondolas under the inner wings right next to the landing gears. These 37-mm guns were extremely effective weapons weighing over 360 kg and were also widely used by anti-aircraft artillery.
In June 1942, an experimental setup was tested on a converted Ju 87D-5 and proved more effective than the German Luftwaffe’s other antitank aircraft – such as the Henschel Hs 129 or Junkers Ju 88P. With an ammunition supply of one loading strip containing six shells, the BK 3.7 fired armor-piercing ammunition at a projectile velocity of over 850 meters per second.
On 48 pages, Gerhard Lang presents a detailed account of the technical development and front-line use of the cannon bird. -

Flugzeugmutterschiffe der Kaiserlichen Marine und Ihre Flugzeuge
39,50 €In the First World War the aircraft mother ships (seaplane support ships) of the Imperial Navy, which were classified as auxiliary ships emerged from converted cargo ships, which served from 1914 to 1919 as advanced sea flight stations. Because the initially unprotected installation on the upper deck severely affected the aircraft, larger aircraft mother ships received hangars.
On the basis of many unpublished private photographs from the estates of various seafarers and a short, explanatory text, this book traces the history of airborne naval aviation in the Imperial Navy. As a thematic conclusion, the efforts of the Naval War Command of the Kriegsmarine, which in 1939/1940 again wanted to use aircraft mother ships for the trade war on the Baltic Sea, are presented. -
Flying Colours of Richard J. Caruana. Bookazine Collection: 1
22,95 €During the last decade or so a considerable number of requests were received, especially from the younger generation, for me to put together a cross-section of my work into a book. Truly an impossible task considering the thousands of illustrations produced over these fifty years. It was therefore with this in mind that Im embarking on this voyage of memories that will hopefully be met with approval by both those who remember the drawings in now-defunct or difficult to find publications and also those too young to have had the opportunity of enjoying them. It also gave me the chance to update older illustrations to todays standards.

Focke-Wulf Ta 154 Luftwaffe Reich Defence Day & Night Interceptor Night Fighter Zerstörer All-Weather Day Fighter
Ca. über 350 Fotos und Zeichnungen. -
French Warships in the Age of Steam 1859-1914
79,95 €This book is the first comprehensive listing in English of more than 1400 warships that were added to the official French navy fleet list between 1 January 1859 and World War I. It includes everything from the largest battleships to a small armoured gunboat that looked like a floating egg. Reflecting the main phases of naval policy, the ships are listed in three separate parts to keep contemporary designs together and then by ship type and class.
For each class the book provides a design history explaining why the ships were built, substantial technical characteristics for the ships as completed and after major reconstructions, and selected career milestones including the ultimate fate of each ship.
Following the earlier volumes written jointly with Rif Winfield, French Warships in the Age of Sail 1626-1786 and French Warships in the Age of Sail 1786-1861, this trilogy now provides a complete picture of the development of French warships over a period of almost three centuries.
